I'm a little smashed. Actually, totally smashed.
Right now, I'm in Colorado Springs. I'm helping coach the Women's Talent ID Camp for USA Cycling (which is funny for several reasons). I'm coaching, but I'm riding too and riding a lot. Riding more than I have in the past 3.5 months. Today was a double day of field testing (5 min and 20 min) and pace-line racing.
Yesterday was a double day of cornering, climbing, and skills.
Tomorrow is a single day of 4 hrs filled with more bike riding and racing stuff.
Last Sunday, I raced my first bike race since breaking my arm. It was fun. Period.
I was nervous as shit before the race, I am unfit, and suffered 2/3 of the race, but I had fun and won $40.
I think I'll race again sometime soon (stupid UCI, USAC rules forbid me from racing ACA races in Colorado, so I have to go somewhere else to race).
Monday, Tuesday, and Wednesday were filled with coaching, riding, athlete rides, packing, and driving.
Thus, I am smashed.
And it feels good.
